MALE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/ABUSE VICTIM - FACTS
The British Crime Survey report: Home Office Statistical Bulletin – Homicides, Firearm Offences and Intimate Violence 2007/2008 (published 22nd January 2009) published the following;
2 in 10 (20%) of men experienced domestic abuse between the ages of 16 and 59, these figures are an estimated 3.2 million male victims.
34 men were murdered by a partner/ex-partner, this equates to 2 men every 3 weeks.
61 men murdered by other family members, this equates to more than 1 each week
174 murdered by friends & acquaintances.
52,000 recorded incidents were against men. How many were not recorded?
